Notice of Utility Rate Changes Effective January 1, 2026
The Village Board has approved updates to the water utility rates effective January 1, 2026. This adjustment is necessary to address increased operating costs and to maintain essential services for residents. Water rates have been updated due to rising costs associated with system maintenance, infrastructure needs, and general operating expenses. These changes help ensure the Village can continue to provide safe, reliable water service.
Previous Water Rates
- 0-2,000 gallons: Flat rate of $21.50
- 2,001-3,000 gallons: $12.07 per 1,000 gallons
- 3,001-15,000 gallons: $12.27 per 1,000 gallons
- 15,001 gallons and over: $12.69 per 1,000 gallons
New Water Rates (Effective January 1, 2026)
- 0-1,000 gallons: Flat rate of $22.60
- 1,001-3,000 gallons: $13.07 per 1,000 gallons
- 3,001-8,000 gallons: $13.27 per 1,000 gallons
- 8,001-15,000 gallons: $13.69 per 1,000 gallons
- 15,001 gallons and over: $14.02 per 1,000 gallons

The Village has experienced increased costs across multiple areas, including utilities, operations, and infrastructure. These rate adjustments are intended to keep the utility funds financially stable and avoid service reductions or emergency funding measures in the future.
