What is the curfew for Mazon?
It is unlawful for a person 16 years of age but less than 19 years of age to be present at or upon any publice assembly, building, place, street, or highway unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am, 7 days a week. It is unlawful for a person less than 16 years of age to be present at upon any public assembly, building, place, street, or highway unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian between 9:00 pm and 6:00 am, 7 days a week.
Is burning allowed?
It is unlawful to burn garbage or rubbish with the corporate limits of the village at any time. GARBAGE OR RUBBISH shall include but shall not be limited to paper, cardboard, rags, plastic, rubber, leather, tar paper, old batteries, wet or green leaves, weeds or grass or any materials which emit an offensive odor or creat heavy smoke when burned.
Notwithstanding any other provisions to the contrary, it is lawful to burn wood and dry leaves daily on private property between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Burning leaves on concrete or blacktop roadways is prohibited at all times.
Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of shall be fined not less than $50, nor more than $500 for each offense.

What are the rules for Golf Carts?
The Village of Mazon allows golf carts to be registered to drive on Village streets. The cost to register a golf cart is $25.00 per year and renewable on May 1. Golf carts may only be driven on roadways where the speed limit is less than 35 miles per hour. Golf carts may cross North Street, but cannot drive on North Street. Golf carts may cross Route 47, but cannot drive on Route 47. Golf carts must follow all rules of the road and are not to be driven on sidewalks or in the park. The registration number assigned by the Village must be displayed on each side of the vehicle. The owner must display the numbers in contrasting and reflective color. Numbers must be 4 inches high and 2 inches wide. All drivers of golf carts and recreational off highway vehicles are required to comply with the Illinois complied status and subject to conditions set forth in 625 ILCS 5/11-1426.1, 625 ILCS 5/11-1426.2, 625 ILCS 5/12-603 and 625 ILCS 5/12-603.1. Please note specific changes regarding the requirement of turn signals, brake lights, seat belts, and child saefty restraints.

How do I set up new water service?
New water/sewer service is required to be set up by the resident. We require a photo ID and a $100.00 water deposit at time of setting up service. Your bill will be due the 15th of every month.
