NOTICE of Public Hearing - Preliminary Environmental Impacts Determination

The Village of Mazon will hold a public hearing on March 20, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Village Hall (520 Depot St., Mazon, IL) to gather public input on the proposed New Water Treatment Plant Project and the Illinois EPA’s Preliminary Environmental Impacts Determination (PEID). The project involves constructing a new water treatment plant and installing a forcemain to convey wastewater, with an estimated cost of $8,499,000. Funding is being sought through the IEPA Public Water Supply Loan Program. The Project Report and PEID will be available for public review at Village Hall starting March 10, 2025. Comments may be shared at the hearing or submitted in writing up to 10 days afterward.

Text to 9-1-1 Service Live in Grundy County, IL, August 2024

The Grundy County Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) is pleased to announce the availability of test-to-9-1-1 for emergency situations for all communities whose 9-1-1- calls route to the Grundy County 9-1-1- Center located in Morris, IL. This includes the Village of Seneca in Lasalle County, IL. This new service allows residents to send text messages to 9-1-1 when calling is not possible or practical.
